Quick Setup

If you just want to get ShowRevue ready for the first session, use the built-in setup wizard.

Open Help → Setup Wizard any time to run through these same steps again.

1. Name the show​

Enter the show name first.

  • This name appears on recordings and overlays.
  • You can change it later in Preferences.

2. Choose your lighting console​

Pick the console type you are using:

  • GrandMA3 for OSC over network
  • GrandMA2 for MIDI Show Control
  • ETC Eos / Ion for OSC over network
  • No Console if you want to set it up later

3. Connect the console​

GrandMA3​

  1. In MA3, enable OSC.
  2. Set the target IP to this Mac.
  3. Set the output port to 8000.
  4. Enter the MA3 console IP in ShowRevue if you want cue fireback later.

GrandMA2​

  1. In MA2, enable Send MIDI Show Control.
  2. Connect the console to the Mac with MIDI.
  3. Confirm the MIDI interface appears in macOS.
  4. ShowRevue auto-connects to detected MIDI sources.

ETC Eos / Ion​

  1. In Eos, enable OSC output.
  2. Set the target IP to this Mac.
  3. Set the output port to 8000.
  4. Enter the Eos console IP in ShowRevue if you want cue fireback later.

4. Add a media server if needed​

If the production uses QLab 5, enter:

  • the QLab IP address,
  • the QLab OSC port, usually 53000,
  • the passcode if OSC access is protected.

If not, skip this step and configure it later in Preferences → OSC Input (QLab section).

5. Set audio inputs​

Choose the primary input device, then check the recording tracks.

  • Track 1 is the main program audio and drives the waveform display.
  • Tracks 2 and 3 are optional for comms, audience, or extra feeds.
  • Each track can use its own device and input channel.

6. Set audio outputs​

Configure playback routing for speakers, headphones, or monitoring buses.

For each output bus, click ID to verify routing. ShowRevue plays a 2-second tone then speaks the bus name on that bus.

If you need LTC during playback:

  1. Turn on LTC output.
  2. Choose the output device.
  3. Choose the output channel.

7. Set timecode​

If you are using LTC:

  1. Choose the LTC audio device.
  2. Choose the LTC input channel.
  3. Confirm ShowRevue locks to the signal.

If you are not using LTC yet, skip this and configure it later in Preferences → Timecode.

8. Finish and test​

After the wizard is done:

  1. Fire a cue from the console and confirm it appears in the cue list.
  2. Check audio meters on the input tracks.
  3. Start a short recording.
  4. Stop it and open playback.
