Stage Display Messaging
The Messaging page is a dedicated operator control panel served by ShowRevue on your local network. Any phone, tablet, or laptop on the same Wi-Fi can open it — no app required.
Requires the Production licence tier or above.
Everything on this page — presets, mask, custom messages, and show state — can also be triggered via OSC remote control. See the OSC Remote Control reference for the full address list.
Accessing the page
Navigate to http://<mac-ip>:<port>/messaging — for example http://192.168.1.10:8080/messaging.
The address and QR code are visible in Preferences → Stage Display. If a PIN is set, you will be prompted to enter it before the controls appear.

Output Mask
Mask Output covers the Stage Display viewer with a full-screen BLOCKED card — useful when the feed needs to be hidden from an audience display without cutting the stream.
- Press Mask Output to activate.
- Press Unmask (or Mask Output again when active) to restore the live view.
The mask can also be controlled via OSC: /showrevue/mask/on, /showrevue/mask/off, /showrevue/mask/toggle.
Custom Message
Send any free-text message to the Stage Display display:
- Type the message text.
- Choose a colour (colour picker).
- Choose a duration — 30 s, 60 s, or persist until cleared.
- Press Send Message.
Press Clear Message to remove an active message immediately.
Show State Counter
Manually advance the show phase displayed in the Show State widget and Stage Display pill.
Auto-advance takes priority. If Project Settings → Show Timing has Auto-advance enabled, lighting cue fires drive the phase automatically and this panel is hidden — it is only available when auto-advance is off.
When auto-advance is off, the panel shows the current phase with a live ticking timer and the following controls:
| Button | Phase set |
|---|---|
| Preshow | Preshow (no timer) |
| Act 1 – Act 4 | Act N — stopwatch starts now |
| Interval 1 – Interval 2 | Interval N — countdown/stopwatch starts now |
| Finished | Finished (total frozen) |
| Reset (Auto) | Clears the manual phase; returns to auto-calculated |
The timer ticks live in the browser via SSE — no refresh needed.
Show state can also be set via OSC: see OSC Remote Control → Show state counter.
