Show Chat
Crew chat that knows the show. One feed per production, shared live between the Mac app, the cloud and LAN Live Notes web pages, and the iOS companion — sitting right next to the current cue, timecode and show state.
Enable it in Project Settings → Show Chat. A second toggle, Store chat with recordings, keeps the log with each take.
On the Mac
- Window → Show Chat — feed + composer, department filter chips, A−/A+ text size (up to 48 pt for across-the-booth reading).
- The ShowRevue Monitor window includes the same chat beside the live monitor and notes.
- In playback, with storage on, the chat replays in sync with the video — messages appear as they were said, YouTube-live style. The web Recording Viewer does the same.
- An @mention of you (name or department) or an acknowledge-required message bounces the Dock icon when ShowRevue is in the background.
Everywhere
- Roles on chips — every message shows the sender's role verbatim; departments (derived from the role picker) drive filtering and
@deptalerts. - @mentions with autocomplete;
@namepushes that person's phone,@lxalerts a department. - Acknowledge-required (✓ toggle in the composer), a single pinned message across all surfaces, read receipts ("Seen by N"), inline markdown, and chat → note promotion back-dated to when it was said.
Resilience
Three transports at once: LAN server, cloud, and a peer-to-peer mesh between devices in the room. The cloud keeps working if the Mac crashes; the mesh keeps the room talking with no Mac and no internet; unsent messages queue and reconcile without duplicates. See the companion chat page for the phone-side details.
Chat and Stage Display operator messages now share one LAN mesh, so chat works with no internet and even with no cloud show at all. Messages carry an id and are deduped across every transport, so nothing arrives twice however it reaches you.
