SRT Stream

SRT streaming needs a Max licence (it shares the streaming gate with RTMP).

Streams the composited preview (the camera with the overlay on it) over SRT. ShowRevue listens and the console connects to it, so there's no ingest server in between: both machines just need to be on the same network. The usual use is the live stage picture on an ETC Eos magic sheet.

Setting it up

  1. Set the Port (default 9710, any free port above 1024) and click Start Listening. The tab shows the address to give the console, srt://<this Mac's IP>:<port>.
  2. On the console: Setup ▸ System ▸ Video Streams, add a stream and paste that address.
  3. Drop a Video Stream object onto a Magic Sheet and target the new stream.

The status line says when a console is connected. If it drops, ShowRevue keeps listening and the console can reconnect on its own. Stop ends it. The port can't change while the stream is running.

Picture settings

  • Bitrate. 2–4 Mbps is plenty for a console view.
  • Profile. Consoles need H.264. HEVC connects but shows nothing.
  • Keyframe every 1–4 s. 1 s means a reconnecting console gets the picture back sooner.
  • Hardware encoder. Turn it off if no video appears in the stream.

Codec changes take effect on the next connection.

One console at a time

ShowRevue serves a single SRT client. A second console asking for the same stream won't connect until the first lets go. In a multi-console Eos session each console counts as its own stream, so point one console at ShowRevue rather than the whole session.

For a stream to a platform or an ingest server, see RTMP Stream.
